The world is discovering vertical agriculture in it’s many forms, from the sci-fi-esque skyscraper farms to the Upstart Farmers.

The potential of vertical ag is expanding rapidly in various degrees of rationality. Some of this potential is being grasped and is making waves.

Don’t believe us?

Just ask any Upstart Farmer, any educator using ZipGrow in their classroom, any CSA member consuming the result of vertical farming.

They’ll tell you something: vertical farming is making a change. This change manifests as new relationships, trust between people, the promotion of honesty, better education, and hope for future generations.

Call us idealists, but we believe that these changes will grow bigger and more beautiful with time.

The growing number of successful vertical farmers and the change weve seen them make, as well as the adoption of ZipGrow technology, supports our hope and spurs us onward.

It took us a long while to get here, but the inventions of Bright Agrotech and the innovation of Upstart Farmers have begun to gain speed.

Demonstrating American Innovation in Agriculture

This summer, ZipGrow technology is getting some fuel as the main attraction of the U.S Pavilion at the 2015 World’s Fair. Designed by James Biber of Biber Architects, the Pavilion will feature the world’s largest food-growing green wall, powered by ZipGrow.

Not only will the Pavilion’s 3000-tower green wall showcase the beauty of American innovation, but it will be the first lightweight green wall that can also support traditional large-statured crops.

We’re excited to see the greenwall make it’s debut, and we have high hopes that the green wall will serve as a beacon that will encourage vertical farmers and trigger the creation of new farms and new opportunities.

When future farmers respond to that beacon, we will welcome them with continuous free information, one-on-one help, and great technology.

Our #verticalfarm continues inside the @usapavilion2015. In the Boardwalk Level exhibits, each Content Station is topped with a Plant Chandelier, composed of herb and vegetable varieties grown in the part of the country each speaker represents. The chandeliers also serve as a way of bringing the vertical farmthe largest of its kind in the worldinside the pavilion for visitors. #1in9bn #agtech

Over in Milan, the vertical farm @usapavilion2015 is nearing completion! The facade features state-of-the-art ZipGrow towers from @bright_agrotech, an American-based company that builds vertical gardening products. Our 7,200-foot farm will grow 42 different varieties of vegetables, grains, and herbs. JBF has led the production of @usapavilion2015 at @expo2015milano, where more than 140 countries will celebrate food and identify solutions to improve the global food system. @expo2015milano begins May 1!
