Quick Tip: Foliar Sprays to Treat Deficiencies

Posted by Amy Storey on March 27, 2015

If you're dealing with potassium, calcium, magnesium, or iron deficiencies, it might be time for you to familiarize yourself with foliar sprays.

Foliar sprays can be a great way to get a fast response to a nutrient deficiency. Most sprays are as simple as mixing about 1 tsp/gallon of a chloride (calcium chloride for calcium deficiency, for example) and applying it as a spray.

Since you are applying a salt, it's important that you keep sprays to a low volume and spray at dusk so that you do not harm sensitive vegetation.
